How to Write "Ngo Ngu" (ง) in Thai

Please see the illustration above to learn how to write the Thai letter Ngo Ngu (ง). As the seventh consonant letter of the Thai alphabet, it is one of the easiest letters to write - but also one of the trickiest for many foreigners to pronounce. It represents the velar nasal sound /ŋ/, like the final sound in “sing.” Unlike English, Thai allows this sound at the beginning of words, as in งา (ivory) and งู (snake).

Writing tips:
Start slightly below and to the right of the top-center. Make a small clockwise loop, then draw a straight line downward almost to the bottom. Curve gently clockwise at the bottom, and sweep upward and to the left until about mid-height. Finish with an optional short leftward hook.
